Sunday, June 10th Rotorua, New Zealand

Today we explored the craters of two super volcanoes, which have become lakes, in duck boats in the Rotorua area. We also got to experience how jade was acquired and shaped to make jewelry, and we learned how significant jade is to the local New Zealanders. We also were allowed to ride luges, which was the highlight of the day. On top of all this, we experienced Maori culture and saw what it was like on the islands before European contact during our visit to the Tamaki Village. – Luke Stevens
